First off, all blog posts will not use any AI. I'm not going to waste your time with bland AI writing - I'd much rather waste it with bland human writing instead.
My co-founder Clara and I built Cork because of an issue we'd been facing in our own lives: saving things from Insta Reels and Tiktok is difficult. We personally both struggled with the loop of seeing a cool place or event on social media, thinking about how cool it would be to go, and forgetting about it as soon as we swiped up.
So, we made Cork.
Next time you see a Reel or Tiktok about a pop-up vintage flea market or the best cafes in Baltimore, just send it to Cork (just like you're sending it to your friend), and let Cork do the heavy lifting. Then, when the time comes for your girls trip to New York, just open Cork to see what you want to do in NYC.
Why do I think Cork is the best app in the market? Objectively (of course), I love Cork's organized user interface and cozy color scheme. Our information extraction from social media content is also the most accurate of any other app.
Why should you use Cork?
Personally, I believe Cork is the ultimate user-first app. Our app is completely free and will never offer a premium version that gates features or usage behind a paywall, which already sets us apart from our competitors. There's a saying in startups and software development: if the product is free, then you are the product. This saying never rubbed me the right way, probably because of how true it is. One of the coolest feature of Cork (and one that many early users have been opting to do) is the option to use Cork anonymously - no phone number, no name.
Cork is not another social media.
In one of my conversations with my high school friend Alana, she mentioned not using Beli because she didn't want to get bogged down by another social media app. Instead of followers, posts, or making your saves public, we've kept Cork special for you (and potentially a handful of close friends in the future).
Above all, Cork is made with love. I know it sounds corny, but I hope that all of the love and care Clara and I have for Cork shine through, whether through our app design, social media posts, or this blog.
